Riu Cancún is an all-inclusive beach hotel in front of Plaza Caracol, 500 meters (1,640 ft) from Cancun Center and Forum by the Sea mall. The property is within a 4-kilometer (2.5 mi) radius from the Coral Negro handicraft market, Tortugas Beach, and La Isla Shopping Village. Cancún International Airport (CUN) is 24 kilometers (14.9 mi) away. The 569 guest rooms at the Riu Cancún hotel have a minibar and liquor dispenser, flat-screen TV, ceiling fan, and air conditioning. Accommodations are also equipped with in-room safe, direct dial telephone, balcony or terrace, and a private bathroom with shower. Guest rooms offer WiFi and satellite TV. The junior suites include a sitting area with sofa bed, and some accommodations overlook the sea or are adapted for guests with disabilities. Facilities include three pools, a children´s pool, a Jacuzzi, a theater, a children´s club, and a Spa with sauna, steam room, fitness center, and beauty salon. The four restaurants serve international dishes ranging from grilled meats to Japanese cuisine. The five bars are distributed throughout the property and the nightclub is open six days a week. The hotel has a parking area, computers with internet, and two meeting rooms for 120 guests suitable for weddings. Riu Cancún offers an entertainment program for children and adults, water sports such as catamaran, canoeing, and a scuba diving lesson in the pool. The hotel provides 90 continuous minutes of internet access in the lobby, concierge assistance, honeymoon special, babysitting service, room service, laundry services, and daytime access to the facilities of the Riu Caribe sister hotel, at no extra charge, which hosts the Riu Pool Party exclusive for adults (Monday, Friday, Wednesday, and Saturday). ***The local government has a mandatory tax of $76.62 MXN per room, per night, payable directly to the hotel. ***Any reservation of 10 or more rooms is considered a group reservation and has special conditions.
